The Refugee Sewing Society was founded in Clarkston, Georgia, in 2008 as a place of safety and comfort for refugee women. In our classes, approximately 40 women learn to sew, knit, crochet, and make jewelry. The all-volunteer staff sells these handcrafted goods at churches, universities, through our Missions in a Box program and in our special-order plan. Money the women earn helps their families pay for food, medical care and other basic needs. As a Christian ministry, we surround our precious women with the love of our Father, and we comfort and encourage them as they see the love of Jesus in everything we do.
